Hi Guy,
This is news to me.
I have the Asgard 2. Good sound for very little money. I paired it with an HD 650. The only problem was the heat!
The whole casing is the heat sink. In summer, I cannot touch the case. Even the volume is too hot. Their site says 40-45 degrees C.
The Asgard 3 is not class A like the old ones, so they say it runs cooler.

Hi tmazz and others....
When I was shopping for an amplifier for my newly acquired Sennheiser HD650
I was considering the the Schiit Valhalla,
but here on planet Vietnam it's minimum 30C all years round
and with four tubes on the Valhalla
I was affraid that the amplifier would be hot like a gas stove
and in my thinking, heat is the worst ennemi of electronics.
So I went instead with the Bottlehead Crack,
still hot, but touchable.
Now I have Schiit Magni 3 run cool or just a little warm, can leave my hand on it.
But the problem, well, not really a problem, but for me it's more convenient
and less cables to have the Schiit Asgard 3
and I can eliminate the Schiit Fulla 2 and all it's cables.
Schiit says it run a little warm, but not hot.
The advantages of this Asgard is :
Will take less space, less cables, less heat (That has to be seen)
and according to many reviews (I don't always believe them) the sound
is better than the Magni 3, I will use the Asgard with both headphones :
Sennheiser HD-570 (60 Ohms) and HD-650 (300 Ohms)
and I have a pair of Panasonic small ear buds (Sorry no specs)
but at Amazon, they said they sold more than 50,000 units,
soooo... Can't be that bad.
As a matter of fact, for 10 USD they sound better than my wife's Apple ear buds.
