Typing this as I listen...
Truth be told, I rarely do the headphone listening thing. I have always enjoyed the big speaker listening experience. Visceral listening is more my thing.
Today, after working in and out of the 8 degree weather, I was jonesing for some loud tuneage, but the wife was not in the same frame of mind. To be fair, she is usually quite accommodating.
Just throwing this out there- nothing in the listening chain(amp, iPod,) was SOTA, but it all clicked today.
Enjoying the listening ride, and getting the whole ‘remove the room listening thing’.

My wife is usually as accommodating as yours. We’re both quite fortunate in that regard.  Being a fair weather kind of guy, I gripe when it’s in the 30s in So Utah and you’re dealing with 8 degree weather. Glad it’s one of those great listening days for you. I get those occasionally and it’s magic when it happens
