I watch Ron Brenay's videos on occasion. The one I have listed below gets into the sound of generic power cords being plugged into the wall versus using the GR Research power cords all being plugged into Dave's UberBUSS. Ron also used ChatGPT to analyze the test results.

What was interesting also is that this test was done on a dedicated circuit for audio. My system wouldn't sound nearly as good if I didn't use Dave's UberBUSS and my various power cords.

I just saw a new Danny Ritchie video on the UberBUSS and Danny is now offering them for sale. That video is directly below.

I decide to try out this Chat GP that everyone else is using and this is what I got. I own the Puritan PM136
Maybe Dave can chime in if this Chat thing is off.

hoosing between the PI Audio UberBUSS and the Puritan Audio Labs PSM136 depends on system synergy and personal preference, as both are highly regarded power conditioners in the hi-fi community. User testimonials indicate that both significantly reduce noise and improve sound quality without current limitations.
PI Audio UberBUSS
Core Philosophy: The UberBUSS is a non-limiting, high-current, wide-bandwidth power filter designed to be non-intrusive to dynamics, suitable for an entire system including power amplifiers.
Key Strengths: Reviewers praise it for creating a very "black" background, enhancing clarity, improving dynamics (both macro and micro), and expanding the soundstage.
Unique Features: It incorporates a Power Factor Correction network to increase instantaneous current delivery and uses non-metallic housing to prevent eddy currents. It does not offer surge protection as standard (requires an add-on unit called the "BUSS-Stop").
Puritan Audio Labs PSM136
Core Philosophy: The PSM136 uses precision symmetrically balanced circuitry and 39 separate filter elements to remove noise, focusing on lowering the noise floor without compressing dynamics.
Key Strengths: Users report a significant increase in calmness, improved instrument separation and focus, better timing, and enhanced tonal accuracy. It is noted for making the sound more relaxed and less fatiguing over long listening sessions.
Unique Features: It can be paired with the optional Puritan Ground Master (GM) to eliminate ground-line noise for further improvements in clarity and bass definition.
Which is "Better"?
Both units are highly effective, and the "better" choice is subjective:
The UberBUSS seems to excel at delivering powerful dynamics and an "alive" sound, with a potentially warmer character, which some users prefer for its musicality.
The PSM136 is often described as more precise, detailed, and neutral, providing a very clean presentation and excellent focus, which might be preferred in systems that need less warmth or more resolution.
Ultimately, the optimal choice depends on your specific system's needs and your personal sonic preferences. Auditioning both units within your own setup is highly recommended if possible.

Thanks, Evan. Interesting comparison using ChatGP. I have not tried the Puritan as the UberBUSS does everything I could ask for. I know a couple of guys who use the Puritan. Either way, I would never be without an AC filtering device nowadays.
