how old is the preamp?

I believe it was made in 2009 (see picture 3).  I picked it up in 2010.

Just wanted to jump in and add a few details to this post. The power supply filter capacitors are made by AmpOhm and are their metalized polypropylene. Very nice capacitors.
With the Clarity MR coupling capacitirs, you can expect the highest level of inner detail retrieval,  fast-informative dynamics and excellent resolution and transparency.
This preamp was built in 2009 and sent to a dealer from which Mr Foy purchased it.
I too am available for any questions one might have about this preamp.

  If one is need of a preamp for $800 jump on this. IMO you would have to spend over $1500 to come close. This is KABOOM for the buck guys.

What are the dimensions of the Musica Bella Bellamax preamp?

Can 12AX7 or 12AT7 tubes be used in place of the 12AU7 tubes in this preamp?

Ill let mike give you thensize but as far as tubes go, you can only use 12AU7 type tubes. Besides, you put a 12AX7 or 12AT7 in there and the gain would be through the roof. The AT7 has a gain factor of 70, the AX7 is 100. The 12AU7 is only 17.
