I compared the original Modi 2 and my upgraded one and no contest.
Polypropylene capacitors in the analog power supply clearly elevate it to a
top notch position.

Are you thinking upgrade Cyan2 analog stage?

Glad you were able to confirm that. The Cyan2 is a quality piece, very compact and very heavy and built like a tank. I would not want anyone to mess with it.

With a different piece like the Starkrimson Ultra amp, there's lots of room within the chassis. So having someone mod that would not be a problem for me.

Interestingly, I found that my modified Modi 2 was not found by my
"new" windows 10 pc, but still works with my windows 7 pc.

Fortunately, my recently gotten modi 2 was found by windows 10, so I
exchanged the boards and power supply, and all is ok again. If I had not had the
backup Modi 2, all those caps for nothing.

I see others have had problems with windows 10 not seeing the Modi 2.

By the way, I had a chance to compare my upgraded Modi 2 and it was close
to one of the Denafrips. I will get back with the model, but I believe it was
in the several thousand dollar range.

Steve,

I used Windows XP and 7 for a long time and both OS were stable and good to use. I have a friend who bought a Windows 8 laptop I believe and gave up figuring out how to use it. I'm content with Apple OS. I am presuming Windows 7 can continue to be used, but there's no longer support for it.

Glad you continue to get very good results with that Modi 2 👍
