I don’t know if a sub on a cement floor would benefit as much, but my sub on a suspended wood floor did.

Thanks for the input. I have the sub on vinyl tiles over concrete. Might not be that noticeable.

Paul,

I just found some pricing on Audiogon and the Townsend stuff is pricey…more than I’d like to spend at this time. I will admit that I just spent good 💵 and bought a used Hapa Audio polished silver Aero digital cable, and the improvement is significant over my WyWires Platinum digital coax. But…. it is the holiday season and my pockets are getting emptier 😳 If I knew the improvement would be as significant as the amazing Hapa Aero, I’d certainly consider doing it at some point. My JMR Voce Grande speakers have gliders, but they are fixed and not adjustable. Individual iso pucks would work. My speakers are at least 70 lbs each.

Nick

Gotcha, Nick. I am implementing a tight money policy as well. My coffers are completely empty.  And the Fed and Central Bank are unwilling to step in with any more funds for audio equipment, hence the need for the $25 spike tweak.  :thumb:

You are probably looking at $2,000 or more for your speakers if you invest in the Townshends.

Paul

A footnote around this... Note that the IsoAcoustics product line includes carpet spikes, designed for their GAIA footers. My opinion only .....if you use the IsoAcoustics carpet spikes you're back at square one...

Cardinal rule NO SPIKES!

Thanks for the heads up! But it seems I shall miss it. I'll check back next year.

It looks like there is a new kid on the block.

https://stackaudio.co.uk/auvaeq/

All the reviewers I've read/watched says this betters the IsoAcoustics.  Can't be sure without trying them, but I am sure this will sound better than the spikes I am playing around with, which is essentially technology from the 90s (or 80s), right?

Two reviewers are saying the Stack Audio speaker footers bested even the Townshends.

I think the prices are comparable or just a bit higher compared to the equivalent IsoAcoustics products when you factor in shipping or VAT.

$204 for 4 or around $158 for 3 versus around $180 for three IsoAcoustics Indigos.

Thanks, Jim, for posting the link on the sale. Too much going on and financial expenditures coming up during the holidays.

Paul, you’re always coming up with new stuff! Very interesting reading and that metal to metal contact of the equipment chassis and the top of the puck. I may try them out at some point. I am listening to music right now, but will definitely look at Hans Beekhuyzen’s utube video. He’s very thorough and I respect his opinions. I will be reading the High Fidelity Magazine review when I post this.

The technology is so similar to IsoAcoustics that if you call IsoAcoustics they wiLL probably dispeLL stack audio as being a copy of theirs of sorts  (and possibly in violation of any patent if there is a patent). I'm not about to do any homework right now because I've got my own set of issues going on.

Furthermore, I'm not sure I completely agree, nor am I implying that I disagree, but I think it depends on the circumstance that their statement  "Unlike loudspeakers that *should* be positioned precisely and *held rigidly*..." is true or false. When a transducer produces sound it moves and that's a fact/physics.

Beyond my commentary I'm not "poo-pooing"  Auva EQ.

EDIT: IsoAcoustics claims (albeit vaguely) their isolation design is patented:
