As a result of my buying spree over the past week I currently have piles of over 50 LPs and a dozen CDs that are awaiting their first spins.

So what did I do today..... bought more records.  :duh

Hey, it wasn't my fault. I got an email this morning about a 55% off sale on everything in stock at insound.com.

I ended up getting 3 single LPs and one 2 LP Set, all 180g discs for a total of less than $50.

How could I walk away from a deal like that.

55% off all LPs & CDs and free shipping on all orders over $25.

Sale ends at 11:59 PM EDT tonight.

Check it out

Thanks, Tom! You're a bad influence! Placed my order before midnight! Looks like InSound is owned by Warner Elektra Atlantic records... most vinyl is 180 gram audiophile quality...

The Music Direct crackhouse is making a special delivery tomorrow. MFSL one step of Bridge Over Troubled Water.  Never had a good copy of this album, so I should be set now.

Gene,
Are you hitting the record store in Allentown or some other store?

DoubleDecker is the Allentown place. His prices have gone up since Bill introduced me to it in 2010.

Record Revival is in a sprawling flea market in Quakertown, just South of Allentown, good prices but you have to pick through everything.

I wouldn't pin that on DD. The used record prices for the most part have gone up quite a bit over the past 8 years.

I think it is a supply and demand thing. There are just so many old records out there. And the more people that sell off there collections, the smaller the supply out there to restock the used record stores.

Your points are all true Tom, but he's also opened up the right side of his place to a small audio shop, and I think he has a financial interest in that. Another reason to juice the prices. I don't begrudge him it, everyone has to make a living. But I need to find new places to spend my vinyl money, that's why I bring home so much vinyl from the road, there are deals to be had, albeit at a distance.

Right now my favorite places are in Richmond, VA and Riverside, CA. And I just learned of a place in Herndon, VA I need to check out.

Nick - that's Riverside, California.

If still interested, it's MadPlatter on the edge of the UC Riverside campus. There's a sister store called Rhino in Claremont, CA. I have clients in Riverside and Pomona so bounce between the 2 stores. Rhino is a little pricier, probably because Claremont more upscale. Luckily not there last week as they had a 4.4 earthquake. I've been through a 3.4 and wasn't thrilled about the experience, so glad I missed the 4.4.
