Not sure how I missed this, but very timely. I was disappointed that iFI's top power supply...for currently $110 or so iirc... was still so noisy. The Volumio was quite bad. These companies should offer better quality power supplies as an option. Let the consumer decide what to buy and how much to spend.

As I have become very focused on getting rid of noise, a top notch power supply is very important to me. Now the issue is what are the best and most reasonably priced lps. I took a look on ebay and there are quite a few. I don't have a lot of confidence in Aliexpress for example. Without specific recommendations, I am relying on user ratings and comments and some of those guys may not know what they're talking about or are inexperienced.

The power supply Jack recommended is already sold out on Aliexpress. I did make note of a lps on WBF and it's called the Zero Zone. I would like to get a lps for my Arris modem and the main router for my TP Link mesh system. Both are 12v devices. As the noise issue is so important to me, I'd pay up to $150 per device.

The other thing I'm wondering about are the lps units that offer choices for different voltages. Convenient, yes, but I would think a compromise in performance.

Comments welcome.

I received the dual output low noise linear power supply from China yesterday, the one that Dave recommended. Thought I might have a problem as the original shipper returned it to the manufacturer. So I sent the company an email yesterday and it showed up later via a different shipper, UPS. Maybe it was a tariff issue, but the manufacturer took care of it and very quickly. The unit is very nicely built and their response time to emails is very prompt.

I attached the Arris modem and TP Link router in the living room and there's a noticeable and very pleasant improvement. Both the modem and router are 12v and 1.5 amps. This is so much better than chasing more expensive equipment. Glad I became very focused on noise reduction. I happened to see a huge ad for an electrical company in the paper today. Will check them out as to running a dedicated AC line from the garage to the living room.

So tonight I'll kick back and enjoy a slightly blacker background and more refined and analogue like presentation.

What do you think of this one in comparison to the one you linked?  (I bought one of these that you mentioned, to use on my Roku Ultra).  This one is different in that it is completely discrete with no IC's at all (and more $):  https://www.ebay.com/itm/225551078506?_skw=12v+dc+linear+supply+discrete&itmmeta=01K262FTR122EAXZAMX0JQTXAS&hash=item3483e4546a:g:3PoAAOSwpThkB0UU&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA4FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dFBqXjhdNl8MPq4uOGK8%2FHTC7%2BIs%2FExcYRfWS4DR5lfSQbWF7TnHS895wfK2uZD%2Fl4UhMoaQUJFKJAHVZODz56zsDGm9iHl%2BUmnp92pGY9l%2FqqyjsLgqUraLTK8jvgmyuPEi%2BSGOZCeftNG1Mi4LTtQes9Ytaufg6SjyHl1O5HIX0grxgeT1qc3mE6z7aID8zmGFQ8TcJGqDw6Jr0tw2HtnIgVp33nqyjfJRZGXAIfZacmkVsMx%2BgxBCj9SpI6l8DnOK7Jka%2BMawlBaGHl11M2%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5qsv8KRZg

"Technical highlights

All-discrete topology.

Single-pass, series regulator design.
No IC (integrated circuits) are used. This allows complete design control over all operating points and parameters for superior performance.
Low noise, high PSRR

A constant-current source feeds a zener diode as a stable voltage reference. A low-pass filter (with a corner frequency of 1.6Hz) prevents zener noise from being introduced into the error amplifier. This is an effective yet lower-cost alternative to expensive voltage reference ICs. The low-pass filter also provides a soft-start characteristic.
The output noise (unloaded) is less than 13µV at 24VDC output (measured using a Tangent LNMP (low-noise measurement preamplifier) and a Fluke 187 50000-count DMM in ACmV mode). The output noise is even less when the output voltage is lower. This is much better than the noise of an IC regulator based PSU tested under identical conditions.
The error amplifier is a discrete implementation of an opamp with a high open-loop gain of 102.5dB. The voltage supply to the error amplifier is isolated with capacitance multipliers to boost its PSRR (power supply rejection ratio). This greatly improves the line regulation performance of the PSU.
A long-tailed pair differential amplifier with current mirror and constant current source forms the first stage of the error amplifier. The second stage is the voltage amplification stage (VAS), also with constant current source load. The 3rd stage is comprised of the power MOSFET output devices configured as a source follower.

High-current MOSFET pass transistors

Two paralleled high-current, highly reliable MOSFETs (rated at 18A each) serve as the "pass" transistor.
The high current rating provides a very high safety headroom against overcurrent damage.
The use of paralleled MOSFETs divides the heat dissipation, simplifying thermal management. Onboard heatsinks can be used which would allow the this PSU to supply up to 1A continuous (with much higher peak currents). More sustained currents are possible by using larger, offboard heatsinks.
The negative temperature coefficient of MOSFETs prevents damaging thermal-runaway conditions that may plague conventional BJT devices.
No current-limiting."

Then there's also this one:

What do you think based on what you can see with the internal components?

Thanks for your input.
