In this NYC Men's Fashion show commercial where they associate vinyl and records with designer John Varvatos. I keep thinking it is an Ortofon headshell on a Rega arm.

There was a Ford commercial some years back where Varvatos was shopping for vinyl and left the record store in his swanky new Ford. I can't find that commercial.

Just saw a Kohler generator commercial with the family dancing around the house to tunes played on a turntable, the cartridge supporting a brush (old world style).

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you'll have  to blow your nose.

New Lincoln MKX offers an optional stereo system by Revel. They even have a premium 20 channel "Ultima" version. In the :30 version of this ad I saw on Kimmel tonight, they show the Revel icon on the door tweeter.

But this 2:45 version has the spinning vinyl (at :50-1:00), the hifi system, cranking up the volume, the sexy rich babe, the rich friends, 1960ish Miles Davis impersonator playing the whole soundtrack, tuxes watches and cufflinks, subconscious luxury symbols everywhere. Nothing sells luxury like jazz. When you hear jazz these days, button up your wallet pocket!

This is an ad aimed at wealthy, male, baby boomer, retiree, divorced, jazz loving, toy loving, audiophiles! Don't worry, McConaughey doesn't speak on these ads anymore. That was a major turn off for women. But this is still obviously aimed at men.

There's a Porsche for that.

I've been meaning to update this thread with my findings but haven't had the time till now.

This is what I've found.

In the latest Guitar Hero ad a TT can be seen behind Lenny Kravitz and James Franco.

In a Samsung phone ad the musician, producer famous person who is selling Samsung phones now has a Technics 12xx in plain sight.

I was with the wife in NY & Company and the ad campaign featured Jennifer Hudson and had all sorts of logos on records. Vinyl+Jennifer Hudson and her Jeans = cool and hip I guess.

Berkley Breathed is at it again. He said the current political election cycle was just too ripe with fodder to pass up, so he started Bloom County again. Only on Facebook I believe.

Similar story as last month's NYT online article and video, but just as much fun all over again. Is it the same plant?

This time they blame "millenials" for the vinyl boom. It would be very easy to know who's responsible for the fad by looking at a list of the top 100 selling vinyl titles. Beatles or Taylor Swift? Is that available publicly? If it's Pink Floyd then we know who it is and he's not a millenial.

I read last week that the projected baby boomer spending peak passed about 5 years ago. If kids grow out of this vinyl fad in a few years and boomers spending on high end phono equipment rolls off at the same time that could make a vinyl crash like 1990s.

Or someone could announce production of new pressing machines with 200 orders in hand. And we start seeing vinyl bins in Target.  8)

Looks like Boomers are still in control.

Long live The King! Elvis still #1     :thumb:

Tv show legends season 2 episode 2 there's a meeting between two agents in a real record store. Having a conversation while flipping through vinyl. Just like the old cold war days.

Latest Johnnie Walker ad. Looks to have some kind of Rega TT right at the beginning. IMO TT doesn't match the locale they were shooting at.

There's a dull page view of a record and a Hershel in the June issue of golf magazine on pages 51 titled "get into a groove". It has a cutesy sub of "turn the tables".

Can't post a pic here though.
