I know there are a lot of NY Ravers over here, as well as on Audio Circle. There's been some controversy about some members posts over at AC in the last few months and as a result some are no longer welcome over there.
Since we still love you guys and want to hang out with you, Topround asked that this new forum be created (thanks Mike for taking the initiative). This way everyone can receive notification of upcoming meetings, contribute and participate in threads, post controversial pictures, even use questionable smiley's :yay2:
So welcome everyone. I think the first topic should be a stickey on upcoming meetings.
Enjoy,
Bob
Yeah Im a Ravin!!!! MAaaaad. Thanks Mike for starting such a nice idea, ;)
Mike
Glad to have you guys. I now can communicate with my friends again. Working on Saturdays so no Raves for me until Golf season is over. Soon.
charles
Welcome NY Ravers! Have fun!
SATFRAT!
You out there?
Is Satfrat alive? I fear if he doesnt travel 360 miles from home per day... he suffers.
Where are my buddies Satfrat and Mike?
Nice to see you guys here, maybe a little more loose over here, we can chill and hangout!!
Spread the word
Mike
Hey all!
satfrat is already AN member. Try PMing him. Don't remember Mike's AC name? I just keep picturing Butthead in a kilt with boogers playing the tambourine. Maybe he's in AN members list too.
Hi Guys:
Welcome to a great site!
Ken
Hello gentlemen, and NYAR members too.
In case some don't know, the next Rave is at my place, Hunterdon County NJ. 20 min west from Rt 78/287 intersection.
LizKing, can you make it? You were fun totally plastered at the Sep Rave
I'll try to send directions to the Yahoo group this weeked.

Mike:
The Vandy 7's received very favorable comments at RMAF. I will be looking forward to reading your comments after you hear them today.
Ken
I emailed our local dealer he said he's trying to arrange them to come here too. I wish I could go to Verona with you guys today!
I think we should challenge the Syndrome guys to a dodgeball match.
Let the trash talkin' begin!
Emil, we will wax the court with your boys :-)

Mike is here under
Denton Nation or something like that.
Give him a chance to get comfortable around here and we'll have the Mike we all know and love.
Anyone read Wes' post over at AC.
Looks like he's giving his swan song to the place
I say we all get drunk and go over to AC and trash the place
Who's with me!

That's an understatement!
What the heck happened?
I missed all the excitement.
George
Wow! What an exit! Give Wes credit he said what was on his mind and I think possibly many of us have agreement with some of his comments. However, I think it is probably difficult to manage a site and keep it operating to enable folks like us to use it for free.

Dodgeball? Are you from LA or San Fran ? Here in NY we play stickball. I can see Kaplan now pitching with his powercord around his neck for goodluck. Oh my! Sarafat can wear his Boston hat too.

Fine.Stickball
The Ford Escort is 1st base
Sewer cap is second
Oak tree is third.
Home plate is a flat rock
Two strikes and your out. Tips count as strikes.
If the ball gets lost in Mr Jones' bushes, ground ruled double.
No do overs!
Ready?
Around my neck???? Heck, the KaplanCable H(appy)E(ending) power cord is the perfect substitute (Brooklyn wise) for a rat-tail towel. I prefer the rhodium, as platinum group inflicted wounds are prevented from healing and closing...

Ready ? No no not that kind of stickball. You know the game where we pitch into a strikebox. Yes Paul if Jabba can wear that rope thing around his neck then. I would choose the copper cord to lessen the arthirtis.

You must have been raised in Queens.
I'm talkin' Bronx Stickball :D
I like this already. Glad to see you guys over here and please just keep it rowdy. As a midwesterner, I need the entertainment 8)

Born in Brooklyn. He WTF yous want a game wees will bring da bat you bring da ball. OOH Fa. Hey I'm a 2 sewer man with street stickball.
Ju know I'm berry berry happy to be here. Beisball is my life. Ju know da Bronx smells. Play paddleball ? Played many a tournament on Zerega Ave and Cooms Dam Park. Us Brooklyn boys smoked em.
Heck why don't we just fill the cooler with Stella and talk a good game. Na a Brooklyn boy never runs.
charles
Hey, here's where you guys went to!
I grew up playing stickball in the Bronx, and we played in the schoolyard against a wall with a strike zone drawn in chalk behind the batter. If the ball had chalk on it, it was a strike. There was no running; base hits were called for the distance the ball travelled. I don't remember all the details (it was almost 45 years ago!) but I do remember that reaching the roof of the buildings across the street was an automatic home run, and at least a 10 minute trip to retrieve the Spalding ball.
Mike Fox
Yeah Wes sure went down in flames of glory that's for sure.
But I still feel that it's John Rs site and he gets it the way he wants it to be.
He never promised me a rose garden...
Damn go away for a couple of days an AC goes all to hell, Cant trust you new yorkers with a bowling ball least you try to grow hair on it or fill the finger holes with some nasty substance
Ed

Leave the gun
take the cannolis
Being from Brooklyn
We also played stoop ball and skulzy(spelling?) or was it skully, the game with the bottle caps filled with melted crayons, and sometimes a penney melted in there for extra weight.
We had the best bread too
Mike
So Mike How did the Vandy 7s sound?

I thought the 7 is fantastic, simply for the fantastic spatiality. I was amazed at the way I could sense much better the positioning of the singer, the instrumentalists.... in the soundstage. Nobody was able to play his/own music, so can't say much further. Great speaker, tho at $45K, I'd have to wait for the Mega Millions jackpot Tuesday at least. All that effort Mr. V. spent in developing it, it's worth every penny, he said. I would seriously consider it if I have the dough.
I did not get to hear them sadly enough.
The room was very crowded and very hot and humid from what I could see as people gasped for air as they left
I peeked my head in and took a look and it sounded real good, but I honestly cannot say really what they sounded like.
My two boys were with me and they were getting bored and acting up, so I had to leave.
I may get a chance this week to get up close and personal with them.
MikeM, glad to hear from you, next time we meet I would love to go for a ride in your Mazdaspeed 3 , no funny comments please .
My friend had the speed6 and that was a blast the 3 is even faster.
Mike

Thanks Bob
Wow, that was a notable exit there
Good luck in your 2nd home my NY beetches ;)
Ooof, it is freeing to speak the way I've been raised - I find I have to regularly temper my NY-originated personality for consumption elsewhere.
Regards, John
Aint it a beech hey. Nobody nobody makes bread or pizza like Broolyn.
charles
Hey John!
I know the feeling. Raised in New Haven, now living in the bible belt. The old Jehova's Witness man next door brings up politics and my f bombs start flying. It's embarrassing. I know he was a musician in the Navy so it's OK.
lol...
Hey Ravers...
Hey, I was born and raised in north NJ (Ramsey) but it's been nearly 40 years since I lived there. The two things I miss most are the food and easy access to the city. It's great to see and hear from all our new AN members from my old stomping ground! North Carolina has come a long way since I left Jersey but it's still not easy to find good pizza much less a great bakery.
Stickball! Damn, those were the days....
Hey Phil...good to see you over here...velcome.
mjosef over there
Welcome to AN you bunch of looozers.
STL has better pie than Jersey. Always has, always will :-P
Good to see you fellas here. Pull up a chair, make yourselves comfy.

3 months and counting to the next AC bimbo eruption. :duh
Personally I'm planing on having 500 post by the next time every one shows up. I just hope at least 1% have something useful to say  I been waiting to snag that cheap set of bi-wire speaker cable after the post i made in the how do you wire your speaker thread but that never happened.
