Title: Goodbye Chris Witmer
Post by: richidoo on October 15, 2009, 11:17:34 AM
A good friend of mine, Chris Witmer, diyaudio and AC member, and the voice of Feastrex in the English world, died yesterday. Hit by a truck while riding his bike to work as English translator for a japanese bank.  He leaves a wife and 7 daughters in Tokyo. He was American, went to Japan for college and never left.

Search Feastrex on Asylum or diyaudio or AC and you will see Chris' colorful descriptions of his first Feastrex experiences. His impressions so eloquently portrayed convinced many people around the world to try these speakers. For that I am grateful, he did not exaggerate as many accused him.

I am also grateful for the friendship and confidence. Lots of fun email banter, advice, CD swaps by sloooow snail mail from Japan.  I was hoping to go to Japan to hang with him at Feastrex factory.  He was active on every english forum in the world with single driver activity. He was everywhere. Now literally.

Wow, what a tragic story to read... It's sad when our friends move out of our existence... especially when they didn't want to.

Let me know if you want to go out for a drink or whatnot.

May God rest his soul. Live for today as tomorrow may not come.  Peace.
