I like it here too, it's just tough to get the whole group to change old habits...
Every time Audio circle burps they run over here then drift back, and i guess i'm guilty of that also bu i at least keep an eye on whats going on over here.
Ed
Think of it as our weekend getaway vacation place. This gives us a chance to unwind without having our "parents" breathing down our necks.
Now, who drank the last beer in the fridge?
Yo yo yo Ed .. u da man. You going to the rave in Staten Island this month...
M
I'm going, and bringing two sets of Gallo speakers...

nice! Cant wait to listen. Whats the low end cutoff for the new version Gallos?
M
IIRC it's about 60, I have the new Gallo TR3 sub to go with them.
Barry I'm really curious about the new Gallos. Looking fwd to comments from the rave.
Rich
I'm actually pretty surprised by them. I've set them up pretty haphazardly, and they're throwing a decent sound-stage. I know that there is more in them too, I just need to devote some more time to properly setting them up. One problem I'm having is that Anthony sent me the table stands, so I need a something to put them on to get them off the floor, and I don't really have anything well suited to the job.
How much do the floor stands cost?
I've read some nice things about the speakers. We had a dealer down here in Raleigh a couple years ago, not sure if he's still doing hifi.
I haven't looked into pricing. Anthony sent/lent these to me, so that I could demo them at the upcoming rave, and he didn't have a set of floor stands to send me. For some background, I've known Anthony since '94 when I bought my Solos, from him, at his home in Brooklyn. At the time his distribution isn't what it is now, and with no dealers in the area he was willing to sell to me directly. We stayed in touch for a while after that, he tweeked my Solos and I later upgraded to References, and again to the Al References. But communication back in the '90s isn't what it is now, so eventually we lost touch. I had seen that the business had moved to CA, and I assumed Anthony had too. Not too long ago, I reconnected with him via computer technology, when I found that he'd moved to NJ, and we've visited a few times and been communicating pretty regularly ever since.
Where did ya all go ? hello !
charles
Hell i'm still here just posted a couple of postes

Robin, it's nice to see you posting again. I am waiting for Rwandan coffee to be restocked at my local coffee house.
Happy listening,

Hi Lou,
There's a plentiful stock of Rwandan Buf Mills beans @ Mochajoes.com. I've purchased 14 pounds since last march. But what's really blowing my socks off is this new bean from Kenya that I just got last week. Kenya Kiamabara, "Evocative of ripe, sweet cherries and vanilla bean, with a rich, red-wine acidity." I bought 7 pounds of the Rwandan and 1 pound of this limited supply Kenyan coffee to try out. I'm now regretting my previous 7 pound purchase which is now in cryostasis and will be placing another multiple pound order monday of this remarkable bean which will make up my winter stash along with the Rwandan bean. This Kenyan flavor has me reminiscing of my mother's tit way back when. :yay2:  OK, so I exaggerate,,,,
Cheers,
Robin
ps, yes it's all Topround's fault. He is truely the audio world's reborn demon seed. But I do like the guy so it's all good. :thumb:
I guess that we will have to put this one on Topround He proably posted something rude early Sunday and someone pulled the plug on the whole show. Way to go Topround
My conspiracy theory would be that politics overtook the "recession rising?" thread and the God in the sky just pulled the cord...sorta like let them sweat without the lemonade, then turn the AC back on...the inmates would be so grateful, they will all fall in line.

When I "read" crash....I think of a hard drive crashing....

What about the blue screen of death?
I know for a fact that Wes traveled last week to meet with some Roosh'n weird engineering types. Mebbee he got those sneaky bastards to put the CyberHex on AudioCircle.
As this conjecture has the most tenuous connection to reality, its perfect for speading as an internet rumor.

Bummer for them. It's got to be serious. I don't know what server they use but it must have crashed big-time or is down for some serious maintenance. If the whole lot of them migrate here then this one will probably go on over-load as well. Carl you ready for this? I don't think I can take it if I suddenly see hundreds of Bryston postings :duh

Yeah forgot about the Salk veneer! I'm sure there are others I'd prefer to forget for a while. Having said this, I'm a savage lurker on AC and it's very useful for tidbits and the occasional bout of drama...
I have to agree with you abou the music. I was on second shift for a couple of years and i always had better listening when i got home from work at 12:30 then during the early evenings

I saw it down on saturday, but it still isn't up this morning (Monday). You know it may not be a server issue - maybe John R just blew a fuse. :o
But seriously, I hope the site is recoverable. There was a lot of good going on recently and interest started picking up again over there. At least we still have AN to let us talk to each other.
I heard topround sent John R a 4 lb head cheese. There are repercussions for these kinds of acts!!!!!
M
Robin, thanks for the lead on the Kenya "Kiamabara" coffee. I just checked mochajoes and they too show no current inventory of the Rwandan coffee. I have enough to last till the middle of January, but will probably order a half dozen of the Kenyan coffee.
Soooooo, Topround must have really P-O'ed John R.
The Salk folks must be really hurting since they have home base to...do what ever it is they do.
Lou
The Bryston bunch must be having severe withdrawal symptoms

Listen guys I had nothing to do with the virus that is affecting AC right now
John R and I do not converse, in fact I have been laying low and being a good boy, don't you think? :thumb:
I feel funny being here on Nervosa, I started some shit awhile back, started a NYAR circle here, it was fun, then everyone left here to go back to AC. Myself included.
I don't know where I belong anymore. Carl and Rich have been real gentlemen, but I can't help feeling they were used by us and by me. It bothers me.
If they will let me post I will continue to post here, until we all run back to AC . Lots of you guys continued your presence here and kudos for that, some were here long before all the mess. :thumb:
Anyway.....glad we have a place to post freely, and to keep in touch.
Now back to things audio......

Mikey you are always welcome man. Most of us do both forums, it's more fun than just one. Now Rave has two homes, that's better than one. Use it when you want it.
It has been awesome to see rollo and Banquer and other resurrected souls back causing trouble over there again. And I'm also glad that Levi resumed as fac for NYAR Circle. Seems like your strike worked. AC and AN are both better off for it!

Maybe it is just a cycle but recently AC seems to dominated with threads about Bryston. While I still visit there I prefer the atmosphere here!
Ken
I haven't noticed the "Bryston" thing, but at AC I mainly visit NYAR and not much else...
I just get naked and go anywhere. What happens at AN stays at AN. ;)

I keep seeing that Am I doing something wrong with my Ultra DAC? thread on AC and I want to say.... Are you humping it? Touching it in bad places? But Im not sure that would fly...
