Going to check out the Totem Element Metal speakers.
I was hoping they would get in the Earth or Fire models, but I'm eager to hear the Metals even thought they are stratospherically priced ($13K I think) for me.
I should be there around 2 or 3 - If anyone wants to go just let me know and I'll keep a lookout for you. I know one member here lives in the area but I don't recall the name :duh

Several interesting technologies in that speaker.
That's my old stomping ground. I grew up two towns over in Eatontown. I used to manage HiTech Stereo when it was on Hwy 35.
Hmmm... 120 miles round trip for me... maybe ;)
I'll give you a call if I'm headed down there.
I'm being asked to get to my dad's house in Manalapan earlier than expected - around noon - so I'm thinking I'll be in Red Bank closer to 1-ish than 2 to 3-ish, fyi.
They have a really killer HT system there...
Yeah, not gonna make it today :(
Hope you have fun :thumb:
Yes it was a fun day.
The Totem Metals sounded real nice but I felt there were maybe some minor quibbles with the room/equipment/break-in that kept them from performing at 100%. But I think that's often the case, where one's ear is attuned to your own gear and room acoustics. I feel that I could wring more out of 'em at home and that they would sound friggin great in my room.
I have never really played in the high-priced speaker realm before (to me, $13K is very high priced - I know there are far more expensive ones than that out there) but overall the Metals looked kind of diminutive - I know they pack exceptionally expensive drivers in there and they sounded like it, but for $13K don't you just feel that you should have refrigerator-sized boxes and maybe a happy ending when your done?
I've never heard the hyper-priced $20K and up monitors, but I know I'd be lookin' at then and thinking "$20K?...$20K?..." as I listened.
