My oft-discussed Kinergetics KCD-20 has been recalled to life.
I found a working donor Magnavox with a Phillips 2/29 transport at a thrift shop for $5.00. With the help of my daughter, I resoldered a loose component on the transport control board, then swapped the transport and voila! She works!
I also found a Samsung Blue Ray player at the same store, so for $25.00, I got an High Def DVD player and a damn good CD player, along with some other spare parts if the CD player acts up again.
Very pleased.
