Title: Grado MC+ Mono cart.
Post by: rollo on June 05, 2013, 08:40:59 AM
Well after hemming and hawing forever finally pulled the trigger. Was contemplating a more expensive cart but for $90 and $27 for Sumiko leads, why not. The Grado has received some VG comments. To be used with a Linn LP12  loaded at 47K. The Kuzma Stobi S with the Goldenote Boboli HOMC for stereo LP's.
Got the bug from our lost and departed Jerome. With so many mono LP's on hand it was about time to find out the difference of using a stereo cart all this time.
We shall see.  Just wanted to add that the Needle doctor processed the order in an hour and shipped out. Very impressed with service.

Have been informed that the Grado is not a true mono cart ? But but Grado seems to believe it is a better solution when using with a stereo rig.
I'm confused now. Who is correct ?

Best of luck with this search. VinyleEngine is where I go (other than reviewing the archives here 1st) for turntable/analog info. There was nothing conclusive about the Grado MC+

Maybe you can get some info from this old thread?

Also here is what they have manual wise for the M series of Grado carts. I couldn't find the MC+ though but I wasn't able to dig deep.

OK it is installed finally. Guys if you own mono LPs and can run a dedicated TT or two arms for such JUMP IN.
The difference is staggering. Was using a LinnArkiv no slouch [ $299] runs the show. Gain set at 55db loaded at 47K.
Using the Loesch & Weisner phono Pre gives ya more as it should. A fine MM stage.
The best $90 I ever spent on audio. The 10" 33 LPs are much better than I thought they could be. RCA living Presence fuggetaboutit.

The $299 is for the Vista phono stage. Somehow I missed typing that.
