What makes this even more awesome is that it is so damn dissonant and percussive. Cluster chords that are not traditional/typical makes it very complex to even understand, let alone memorize and play cohesively. Probably partly why she is using sheet music. All at a frenetic pace, of course, and not in 4/4 (sounds like 6/4 to me, or because of the pace, perhaps 12/8)

Nice Mike! Love Barber... Thanks

I didn't know UNC band was that good. I will watch for their concerts.

Glad you like it.
I was enthralled hearing the whole concerto on the radio I had to see what fruit youtube had and boy this is a winner. Very exciting stuff, lackluster applause from the audience...I would jumped out of my seat in ecstasy!

The second movement is awesome as well. in a different sort of way, it takes you to a distant dreamy place, where you fill in the dreams.

I will check it out. Barber is one of America's few great classical composers.

People do like far out music like this. They pretend to resist it at intermission, but they pay attention during the performance rather than fidgeting, eating candy and talking like they do with Haydn and Mozart.

don't forget coughing :D coughing is very popular at concerts, seems the need for quiet brings up the urge to cough :D
