Title: Anyone Have Speltz Zero Autoformers?
Post by: Maxamillion on October 23, 2014, 06:30:27 AM
Anyone have a pair of Speltz Zero Autoformers? If so I'd like to try them out on my system, perhaps at my November 15 rave. I like the bass I'm getting but was wondering what a higher damping factor might sound like.

Will be an interesting experiment, I think!

I once owned them, they worked good. Improved the bass when trying to drive very low impedance speakers with 50w PP tube amp. They are usually available used.

Damn Max,
I just sold a pair cheap. They do work well in the proper application and it is interesting to see how different loads can change the system.

Thanks for the replies. Just taking a shot that someone coming to the Rave might have a pair I could try.

Hey maybe fellow Raver Dave Slagle can whip something up for you. He is the Man to do so.

I have a pair but haven't used them since I pulled the SEOTL amps from my system. I never considered using them on bass. I have Klipschorn bass bins powered with a pr of Gainclone amps but I have no idea how autoformers would work with digital amps without transformers. Hmm...
