I would like to host a rave at my house.
Full rave, vinyl and digital, both cd's and computer.
A few of us went to GT Audio house today and heard his latest speakers and associated electronics and it was friggin great!
I was thinking maybe the 1st or 2nd saturday in December.
Full rave with food and booze.
Please respond by pm or here on this thread if you are interested, system will be Gregs speakers and electronics, this was my idea he is not selling anything at this rave, this is not to promote a product but rather to have everyone experience what a great sound I heard today.
I am serious about hosting this rave, but only if there is significant interest, with all the crap that has been thrown around here lately maybe some people would rather stay away from me, which I understand.
Let me know what you think and I will put it together.
I would like to extend a special invite to Rollo as a lot of crap has gone between the two of us.
Don't know if you know this but Greg received a Gold Award at CAF for one of the best sounding rooms from AV showrooms, when I left his place today I completely understood why he got that award.
Mike
Here we go again
yep
this time I am just a spectator
just hosting for fun as most of my system has been sold or given out for loan
Maybe I should come
I have a better idea. I found out where Chris lives now. Lets bring the rave to him
werd you are most welcome

It's only about 2100 miles from Saskatoon to New Jersey. Hitch up the dogs to the sled. If you leave now you could probably make it by early December.

Sounds like a great idea. I would love to hear the GTs. Unfortunately I already have commitments every weekend in Dec.
December is a tough time of year for a lot of people to pull free for a day. Perhaps you might get a better response if you pushed this out until after the holidays.
I certainly wouldn't want you to move it on my account, but if you end up not getting a good response, think about trying at a later date.
I think it would be great to get things going again and would hate to see it wither and die simply because it was planned at a busy time of year.

I second that idea...between Thanksgiving and xmas a crazy time for folks.

+3 to what Tom & Greg said. I'd look forward to a Rave, but January/February might be a better time. (Weather permitting of course!)
Just my 2¢

There's a good chance I'll be up in NY the second week of Dec. If so, I'd love to attend. I miss all of you Rave/Syndrome guys!

Rob even if there is no formal meeting we can always throw together an ad hoc music appriceation night, so keep us informed of you travel plans.

Mike,
I'd love to attend. Let me know, if there's anything I can do to help you.
Jim
Will do guys. Thanks! :thumb:
ok so after the holidays works for me as well,
Lots of catskill hikes planned for January I will have to see what weekend works.
thanks guys, this will be fun
How far from Toronto are you Topround?
Last time Greg's speakers weren't well served by the source, IIRC. Hopefully this won't happen again - maybe let him be responsible for the whole chain so we know who gets the credit.
I'd like to come as long as the time permits.

I offered to host at my place, but Mikes house is bigger.
Bringing my system is not as daunting as it seems. I have seen some of your systems and they have taken root, not easily transplanted.
My system is just a small light pair of monos a preamp, cd and associated cables. I have easily set it up in other peoples homes for demo purposes.
As mfsoa pointed out, the sound last time around had obvious issues, this was due in part to last minute changes that were out of Mikes and my control. Even though that particular speaker was a work in progress, it had much more to offer than we got out of it that night.
My latest offering is a finished product, not a prototype, it just makes sense to use my stuff, one less problem to deal with in a different room.
As Mike said, this Rave was not put together with the intention of marketing my speakers.
No structured demos, no talks etc. I am only 40 minutes from Mike, anyone interested in that regard can come up to my place for a proper demo.
I think Mike was just getting nostalgic and wanted to rekindle days past.
Hope to see you there.
Greg
I was just goofing on you, Greg. I hope my schedule allows me to make whatever date is eventually set up. Sounds (pardon the pun) like it will be a fun event on many levels. :thumb:

I know you were Bill...just wanted to get a few things said and your post opened an opportunity.
If we manage to come up with a date we all can agree on AND avoid a blizzard, we will be lucky !!
I have no life whatsoever. So I can make up most weekends. Bring it on!
Im in for December if it happens after the first weekend (12/6). Have something important that day.
How about I bring my 32 bit, 384kHz 26 tube output DAC with SPDIF and USB inputs? Basically my 26 preamp with DAC and USB boards built in, switchable for use as a preamp or DAC.
Damn I'd love to get out of Vermont for a day hear, Greg's speakers and say hi to Mike & all the guys. But it ain't gonna happen any time soon. I'm locked in 24/7 as a caregiver for my 87 year old landlady as long as she's able to continue living in her own home.
But if this RAVE happens, PLEASE someone take & post some pictures, hea? Party on!
Cheers
Robin
Hey Mike I would come if available. We need to chat. I'll bring the boxing gloves  How about an old fashioned Rave instead ? Meaning no Manufacture at all. Just friends as before.
Maybe some DIY stuff brought to assemble a system. Your Son's system would suffice after all the drinking. :thumb:
