Title: PARALYSIS of ANALYSIS
Post by: rollo on November 25, 2019, 11:14:15 AM
Well men. Do we over do it ?  :duh
Are you a constant tweaker ? how long do you listen before you change something ? When is enough enough, I say never with minor chilling in between.

Absolutely!!!!! I have been down that path and I learned a valuable lesson at this years CAF. Be careful about how rigidly you follow rules that you should observe for good sound. If something sounds good and you can't explain it, just enjoy.

I have been guilty of frequent tweaks; but i have an excuse as i design/build my own loudspeakers  :thumb:
I have been steady state for a little bit and don't foresee anything new unless I get a slime deal  aa

Not mine, Audio Rave I hosted, someone brought it over to see how it would sound in my system. Swapped some different amps in and out that day too...

Was not much into minor tweaks. However, now that I have such good, revealing speakers.... the Fritz Carrerras...minor differences would be easier to distinguish. So i might travel down that road soon  :D

Well I use to be interested, now I know that they're mostly junk (even if they "work"). And after so long working on audio gear I can tell how legit something might be as well. Typically they're pretty low returns, and usually negative returns. I'm kinda of anti tweak now, at least in the sense of things like grounding boxes.

Ya mean you don't believe in "Magic Crystals" Lol.

I often wonder if those Bybee quantum devices work....expensive.

Hi all.
It reminds me, a few years back a Vietnamese,
owner of an audio (Mainly hearphones) shop, came to my house to listen to my system
and saw that I didn't have much acoustic treatment in my room,
so he propose to me some king of small barss bell,
the size of a small apply.
He told me that with a few of those devices put around  (No specific places - random)
it would improve the acoustic of my room.
Welll... I laugh at him and said : No thank you.
I don't remember the price, but I am sure they were not cheap,
a rip off price probably.
I hope I am not derailling this topic.
If I do, tell me (Politely) thanks you.

of all the "tweaks" I can tell you they "work" but whether they're good/advisable/worthit I don't know.

Hi all.
I often ask myself : Wjay wrong with 15 + years old audio components ? ? ?
And my answer is : Nothing wrong, if they work as intended, then use it, enjoy it
and stop looking at other better, more recent audio stuff.
It doesn't mean that I have to listen to FM and vinyl like I did 15 years ago.
Internet radio and You Tube are for me just an adjustment to the way I get my music.
Most of my audio belonging is 15 - 10 and 5 years old.
For me, finish the time I always wanted to have better audio stuff.
My next move, will be my Home Theater set up which will also
play music from different sources.
If I buy new components, it will be for experimenting and won't be expensive,
what I mean by that is : -500 Cnd$.

Am I off topic ? Yes, no, mayne ? ? ?
