I happened to see this website and a recent KT88 addition with the
150 egg shaped bulb.

Anyone heard one, or review?

Hi Steve,
Was getting used to the new forum software and looking for unread posts and saw yours. I have not seen that one before. It is described as a "dream", but the price sure isn't. At some point, I might be getting a tube amp amp IF I can get every component to be as low noise as possible and that includes tubes. So an ultra quiet tube might cost a good amount of money. I have no idea if good reputation NOS tubes can measure ultra low noise.

I can't understand why no one has mentioned Sofie, although, as you indicate, it does cost between $150.00/KT88 to $200.00/tube, depending upon grade and warranty.

I am looking at the either the "Dream" or the "Global" series 2A3 tubes for our new 2A3 preamp and the DHT/300 Hybrid amp.
Anyone here have any experience with these tubes?
I ordered and received the reissue, a quad of new Mullard KT88.
I posted a review in the Bipolar System Disorder, subforum titled
New Tung Sol 6550 Testing.
The Mullard KT88s soundly beat the TS 6550 and several other brands, sound wise.

The Mullard KT88 is my new reference tube.
