Most power amplifiers these days do not require or like a lot of gain as source components provide sufficient output voltage. The Segue v2 had a gain of 1dB and plays very well with todays class D amplifiers as well as most any tube amp.

We have another custom build in a leftover chassis.

We are pleased to offer another custom-built option. This is the Foundation SN model. The Foundation SN is a 6SN7 version of the Foundation v3, crafted within a smaller chassis we had on hand. It features remote volume control, 3 single-ended inputs, and 2 single-ended outputs. Tubes will protrude through the top plate. Does not have the tape loop of the full size production version.
Additionally, it boasts a relay-based selector and a CLC (choke filtered) power supply with toroidal transformers. We are asking only $1,850 for this piece.

Hi Bill,
That's a nice looking unit. You mentioned the 45 and 2A3 tubes and Ive read that some audiophiles describe those as being their favorite tubes, primarily because of the increased texture of instruments and voices. I haven't heard either of those tubes including the 300B as well. So I am just curious if you have a favorite amongst those three from a designers perspective.

For a more organic presentation, the WE300B is a favorite. My overall favorite so far is a pair of NOS RCA 45's. The 45 provides great detail and a more realistic vocal range.

Here is my personal Harmonia JR running a pair of Sylvania 45's into the GaN FET hybrid amp running NOS RCA 45's as the input tubes.

Thanks, Bill. I had heard it's difficult to find the 45 and 2A3 tubes. I did a brief search and it appears that new 45 and 283 tubes are being made. I was not aware of that, and I presume the NOS are still much preferred.
I hope to hear the 45 and 2A3 amps one of these days.
