Over the past couple years, I have been working on this product under the radar to get it where I want it. (This is not the Master DHT Preamp). It went through several iterations up to this point. As of now, she is sounding very good and about ready for production. The prototype can be seen sitting atop the new Foundation Pre (still need names)

The new design is now known as the Foundation Spirito 2A3 (Spirit). We are now only waiting on chassis.
we have added transformer coupled single ended inputs. Now using Mundorf Silve/Gold/Oil output capacitors.
Using the 2A3 allows for a detailed presentation without sacrificing the many attributes we look for in a quality tube preamplifier.
No frills, simply beautiful music.
Prototyping is complete. The Foundation 2A3 is ready! Please not than in production chassis, the volume control will be located closer to the input filling the void in the faceplate shown below.

I've never heard a 2A3 linestage (nor a 2A3 amp). Can you describe how it might sound different from my 6SN7 preamp?

Hi Michael. I'm not sure how to describe the sound of a particular tube. If you are familiar with the 300B, you can think of the 2A3 as being more precise without the midrange bloom of the 300B. Very clean, detailed and "faster" than a 300B. Also more definition in the lower regions.
The Foundation 2A3 now comes equipped with remote volume, transformer coupled inputs and Mundorf Silver/Gold/Oil output capacitors. Here is the prototype with the new face plate.
