Charles,

Am using +9db on the Hattor preamp. I don't know the gain on the Erhard amp. Jack just got one and maybe he can chime in. My guess is 21 db. My speakers are 88.5 db as I recall. A terrific sounding system for a reasonable amount of money.

I can't keep up with Jack :shock:

Just getting a good quality dual lps off ebay for $100 made a significant improvement on the iFi and the modem .... or router

Yep.  For class A tube amps you can't beat choke-input power supplies.

It is really simple. Measurements are required to get the circuit and power supply correct. THEN voicing with different parts is HOW one makes a design sound the way the designer wants.
