I recieved this amplifier on monday and I have been burning it in since then. it is a beautiful amplifer and after hooking it up i was very suprised at how nice it sounded for being brand new and what not. I pm'ed Blair to ask him how many hours he had put on the amplifier and he replied maybe 8 hrs tops ? anyway it has what Blair calls tunable biasing and it also features a adjustable feedback control and these controls can be adjusted on the fly while you listen to it and they work like a charm. after three nights of listening to the NS-40 with over 50 hrs on it to say i am very happy with it would be a understatement.i know that Blair likes to talk the talk but it appears to me that he can also back it up too 8)

After auditioning his Beacon Two pre, I'm not surprised.

This guy Blair is on the ball people. I like his style and of course his tube selections. Prices are very fair. I wish him well. I'm on the Preamp tour. Hopefully I will have it soon. anxious to play with it.
  Keep us posted.

i had been running a pair Synergy/Create Audio 6SN7's in the NS-40 and yesterday i rolled a pair of Black Treasure CV181-Z's into the input and driver positions of the NS-40 and the amplifier's sound just really opened up  keep in mind that it sounded excellent before the tube swap. I run CV181-Z's in my Purity Audio linestage as well.i have Treasure KT66-Z's and Gold lion KT-66's and i slightly prefer the GL KT-66 over the KT66-Z but i have to compare them again with the CV181-Z's in the NS-40 to see which combination is better in my system.thanks....WCW III

After comparison i still prefer the GL KT66 over the Black Treasure KT66-Z with the Black Treasure CV181-Z's running in the input and driver positions of the NS-40.i ordered some Acme Audio Silver ceramic fuses for my EE DAC and the NS-40 and i installed one in my NS-40 this morning and i noticed a improvement in top end resolution .this is one of the nicest sounding push/pull tube amplifiers i have heard regardless of price and even better it was handmade and wired point to point and given a incredibly beautiful paint job by one single but very talented individual.thanks Blair
