The Panatela continue to delight me. They haven't needed much break-in time to come on song. If anyone is feeling flush and in need of some very classy ic's, I can't recommend these highly enough. They work just as well on an all tube system as on my ICE amp. Tomorrow I'm taking the amp and the cables to a tiny three man rave, where there will be a very tricked out cdp, some fancy SE amps and wide band DIY speakers. Should be interesting to see their jaws fall open covetously  :thumb:

That is a great place to be, Shep.  Hope they are all wow'ed!

I really enjoy listening to music.

shep

totally and utterly wowed. And my cdp won the day and my ICE amp was totally on a par with some very unusual SE amps. Good fun was had by all. So mini raves are possible even in deepest France. I will have now to seriously think about building those wide-band speakers, that are really magical. Maybe about a grand in parts and labor depending on how they are finished (like auto body grade painting sort of thing) Yes these Panatelas are a delight, and not just in the usual techy way we talk, but in pure musical prowess.

A get together with fellow audiophiles always is a good time. Glad to hear your CDP took the cake.
What no pictures ?? Any thoughts as to what speaker you want to build ?? Single driver, two way, three way, horns ? Check out GR Research on AC. I'm sure our Professor Richadoo has a thought or two.

Wow Shep that is one lucky CD player. First it gets to travel to all four corners of the globe for "spa treatments" and now it is getting to travel the French Countryside!

I should live so well.  :D

Wide band single spkr. I posted some pictures of the cdp but I can't find them anymore. If I can uncover them on my computer I'll do it again. We only had to motor 25 mile from home to the rave.

Hi Shep,

Just read this thread. Are your impressions still the same after all this time.
I had them and thought they sounded as you described, but were a little soft sounding compared to my cables.

If you like the IC's you should try their power cables they are even better.

I absolutely am crazy about them and with about 500+ hours they improved even more. I don't hear "soft" but this would be system dependent I imagine. I asked him about power cables but there is not way I can put any more $ into this. I have already gone way over budget these past years and there are other priorities...like new tires? rent? etc. This was a brilliant score on my part and with no offense to anyone here, the Panatela's are my foot into the high end door and there they will stay.

I'm glad you like them! Mark makes very nice cables.
