Somewhat related , does anyone have experience with the inexpensive spin clean ($79) for LP's? does it work well? or should I save my coin. I've never used a cleaner on my LP's.

Hi Jim

If I can find the videos on youtube there was a gent that posted a recording of an LP before and after the spin cleaning treatment. The tester said he noticed a very audible difference but it was slight to me.

Others I've asked use the Spin Clean in conjunction with vacuuming.

I have a Spin Clean but haven't had the time to use it yet. If you are in the Long Island area of NY we could work something out where I could lend you Spin Clean for a time so you can give it a try yourself.

I do live in Nassau County and I'll have to take you up on the offer someday, sounds like a listening session is in order!

I got a SpinClean a few months ago and I am pleased with the job it does for the $$.

One thing though - I can't imagine leaving all of the soapy cleaner on the LP, only to be dabbed up by a quickly-saturating cloth.

After I do the scrub I rinse with ultra-clean water from a squirt bottle - you can see clearly what's been rinsed and what hasn't.

Then I dab with the llittle towel-jobbies and put the album on a soup can to dry.

I usually do 10 at a time.

Yea thats what I was thinking, it has to be done in a batch process. Are the results an audible improvement or is it a feel good thing?

I've never done a critical A-B test but i'd say it does cut down on pops and clicks - My albums have been pretty beaten up over the years so I just think the good scrubbing has to be a help.
