System consists of an amp a preamp, 2 speakers a turntable and a phono preamp, Also some cables and power cords and a really cheap cd player.

Looks like the type of wiring they do in Iraq. Seen lots of villages with wiring that would scare the average electrician. The surprising thing is it worked! :shock:

Just for the record, those are telephone cables, not electric.

And I have to say, I have seen some F'ed up telephone plant in my 35 years with Ma Bell, but that takes the cake.  :shock:

can you imagine trying to troubleshoot that mess.
