Scheu Cello Turntable?

Does anyone have any impressions or know anything good/bad about this turntable?

Impression: too much mass in the tonearm. Looks like it is thick machined acrylic plastic. You'll need a cartridge that likes a lot of mass.

The place I go to for info regarding vinyl other than here is vinylengine and didn't come up with much there.

Scheu is a german brand known as 'Eurolab' in USA.

The table looks really nice. I found the seller had it listed before in Aug for $1700 to start on A'gon.

Hi Jim...

I have a model much higher up in the lineup -- the Scheu / Eurolab Pemiere Mk2 w/ upgraded power supply and upgraded thick platter.  Two mounted arms are Moerch UP4 and Hadcock 242.

Not tons online on this model either, but there are some owner comments / pro reviews and they assert that many guys have traded into this setup from much pricier rigs.

If you are in the LI / NYC area (I live in Long Beach) you are welcome to audition.  Although made by the same company, I realize it is probably a completely different beast, but maybe you can glean a family sound?

The other thing is, and I'm not sure yet, but I'm toying with the idea of selling it.  Much better setup than one on AG, but the price will only be a few hundred more.

Feel free to bring your Linn for a direct comparo.  I'm pretty confident in what the results will be.  If it comes to it, you could probably make the change for very little out of pocket.

Ha ha yea, I do that. I was one of the first people to use Burson. Very few people on the boards even know what that is. I prefer stuff that is a bit of the main path (Burson, Modwright, JKenny, Grover Huffman and the guy in Greece that custom made my TT cables  )
