Tube Swap Out

  Well. For about 5 years and serious hours on the Lamm Reference preamp a tube change was considered. It is recommended the voltage regulators be changed. I paid no attention to that. A mistake.  WTF did I wait so long. Amazing difference in performance. Change out the regulator tubes if you listen everyday after one year and be happy.

Given all the effort we put in with power cords and conditioners to get the cleanest power we can to our gear, it only makes sense that we do our pest to keep the innards of our power supplies running at peak performance as well. If you have any gear with tube rectifiers I would say that they should be changed out on a regular basis  just lint the voltage regulators because any impurities in the PS output will be passed on directly to to music.

I've never heard this before.  I run strong British Mullards and fat bottom Sylvania  5ar4's... never been changed. 
And doing so regularly would add up to a bit of expense.  If a tube is testing strong, why change it?
