Merrill, thanks for hosting a great Rave! You've got 2 very nice systems (I really liked the Dali speakers), and an amazingly understanding wife!


Sheck, when the Auto-Former was used in the system, it was the only thing between the CD-Player and the Amp.

 Merrill thanks for opening up your home to us. Had fun. Barry those Gallo's were not to bad either. Jim the VAC pre made a big difference for the good. The Cherry amp surprised me. The first and ONLY digital amp I can say I like, well done. Worked with the TVC. The high input sensitivity of the amp made t lacking in some dynamics but was smooth as silk. A more focused and tighter presentation. The 26 tube Pre was sweet, airy very pleasent to listen to. The TVC had a tighter grip on the music but was soft in comparison to the active. Ya need less than 1V input sensitivity to make a TVC shine.
   The Legacy's had two crushed rear tweeters that ruined their performance. The bass and midbass were excellent even with all the glass in the room. The Dalis top end was no comparison obviously with undamaged tweeters. The homemade ICs were pretty good as well.
  All in all a good time had. Thankyou EVERYONE good crowd.

       Thank you for a great rave yesterday.  I'm happy to hear you're recovering!!  The cruel irony of hosting a rave is you only work   I enjoyed both of your systems and especially the Dali speakers.  I thought they sounded great with every amp we tried.  The Cherry Plus with Tommy's mew mods sounded very fine.  The amp had an iron-fist control on the Dalis.  Barry's Sony XA20SE is an excellent player.  You'd have to spend mucho to surpass it.  As usual the Gallo speaker sounded great.  Pete thanks for bringing all of the cables; without which we couldn't connect anything

      Thanks again Merrill.  Happiest of Holidays to all of the Rave members.  Remember the spirit of the Holidays; it's about getting more gear

Thanks Merrill for letting us in a bit early. I'm also a fan of the Dali's. They showed every bit of the changes that were thrown at them that day. And I keep saying that every time I hear those little Gallo's I am very impressed with the sound. Not just the sound for their size, but their overall sound compared to most anything else we hear at these Rave's. Good show.

Thanks Merrill and congrats on a v successful rave.  The amount of equipment that was set up and auditioned was huge, in part I think because of the accessibility of your systems.  The Dalis looked and sounded awfully good.  i thought the Legacy's responded well to the CDP/Vac Pre combination, but I am a die hard toob fan, and freely admit that prejudice.  I had a great time.
