Not one comment on the sound of the speakers? Id like to know. I almost bought a pair of Super 8s back in the day.

Well, we were the 1st group in the sound room, as far as listening to music goes (earlier, as announced, Blade Runner was in play in thre), and had only about 10 minutes worth of music, Pulp Fiction?  With the Orangutans!?  Then, we were taken on a tour of the manufacturing arrangement there.  Saw some nice cut wood, and learned of the operation.  When we got back, another bunch of people was seated in the sound room already, so we just socialized outside.  Guess nobody had a good take of the sound.  IF coerced, I'd say somehow I felt the sound was a bit constricted.  Not having any knowledge of the equipment involved, really hard to tell what caused it.....   :duh  I left sometime after 10.  Guess the other guys didn't get back into the sound room either?

Thank you Evan for arranging this Rave...and providing the photos...

Thanks also to John DeVore for the invite - listen - tour - and - spirits.... :thumb:

As mentioned...the only speaker auditioned for that night was their Orangutan O/96...built to focus in on the high sensitivity market...one easy to drive with low power.

Good looking speaker...well built....but....the performance that night was a little flat...just too warm a system.

Sounded like ...."TOO VINTAGE"... :duh

I've heard a number of his other speakers...at shows and showrooms....they have all "shined"...it's good stuff...but this system at the Rave...left things to be desired....I was disappointed. :(

May be different with different equipment....so I won't "count it out"...but it didn't rock at the Rave.

Thanks again...and good to hang with the Raver's on a Friday night. :thumb:

Update....Looks like at CES there was better system selection (equipment)...with a better result...

(Hope so...their a $12,000.00 pair of speakers)

It seems that Chris will lean on just about anything to get a picture taken

You'll notice....that the 6 pack of beer was just to my right...

Is that beer, I thought it Geritol.

From what I'm reading, or not reading, glad I didn't make the 2.5 hour drive 1 way. I have every version of Blade Runner known to man here, and yesterday I think I decided on a new phono pre.

It certainly wasn't the kind of Rave the NY gang "had been" used to.  I miss Phil's grilled salmon.  Some will the steak.....  But, yesterday, there was lots of bottles though.  That kept the troopers happy!!!!!!!  Did Chirs get lost trying to go home?  Did he go home at all? :?:

Shek,

Raves are about the music and equipment; not the food and libations.

No one mentioned an important consideration for the speakers, how much are they?
