From the dance community.... Stephen "tWitch" Boss...death by suicide. He was on the dance show that my wife and I enjoyed watching... So You Think You Can Dance. He was a very talented dancer with an engaging personality. It's pretty shocking as he seemed to be such a happy guy.

Burt Bacharach, 1928- 2023.  He could certainly write a catchy melody.

And now we've lost Wayne Shorter.  Wayne played with sooooo many greats... Horace Silver, Miles Davis, Art Blakey, everyone one else in Jazz.   Then folks like Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana. And so many albums with the Weather Report.
Not likely to see such a wide ranging, quality talent for a long, long time.

I was playing Weather Report just a few days ago.  It was the iteration with Jaco.  Brilliant music.

Ooooh.  Bummer!  A multi-instrumentalist for the ages.  Saw him live quite a few times.  His Roxy performance of Mercury Blues was and is, epic!

According to the article he "cheated death" on two previous occasions. I read of his passing on the Torrent sites. If you would like some of their music I'm happy to share. This is what I've already listened to over the years. In all likelihood I have one or two more shows queued not listed here because I haven't listened to it yet. I always make it a point to play new (to me) music in honor so to speak of a dead musician. I shall do so today.

Jim Gordon - drummer for Derek and the Dominoes, Bonnie & Delaney and many others.

He died in the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.  He was schizophrenic and was incarcerated for murdering his mother during a psychotic break..  Great drummer. Tragic life.
