I picked up 9 of these Box Sets for 2 bucks each at the Crack House a while back and am just getting around to spinning them.

Listened to the Ninth Symphony and the Lenore Overture. Both had very large soundstages but unfortunately a rather hard sound to them. Not what I would consider good recordings. I will listen to a few more selections across some of the other boxes, but if they all sound similar to this it will be back to the crack house for the whole lot of them. It would be just too much shelf space to dedicate to sub par recordings that I probably would never listen to again.

Does anyone else have any experience with this series? I am hoping that the SQ of what I listened to today is not representative of the rest of the sets
