The Beatles: Abbey Road Super Deluxe Edition (2019 Remix)

When I listened to this with my son we both liked the new mix bit he felts some of the instruments felt had and somewhat artificial when compared to the MoFi vinyl.

But since I liked the mix, so last time I was at Mr. Cheapo's I took the opportunity to grab the 180g LP (which was pressed at Chad Kassem's QRP plant).

This now marries the best of both worlds. The new LP has the natural sound of the MoFi along with the clarity and improved soundstaging of the new remix.   

If you like Abbey Road the new LP is definitely worth picking up.

The Dave Brubeck Quartet: Paper Moon

I must 20 different Brubeck albums, but I don't have that one.  How does it compare?

About 10 seconds into it my wife walked into the room and said "You got another Brubeck album?"

Very definitely has that signature Brubeck sound, but I like that.

I wouldn't say that it is a world beater that you have to find, but it is a solid album that I enjoyed listening to and is definitely worth of shelf space.

I spent pretty much the whole weekend painting the Garage-ma-hall with my son and had Tidal streaming the whole time.

Lots of music listened to but I was not about to stop painting and put up posts every time we finished an album.

Ringo Starr: What's My Name

Two pre release preview songs from Ringo's new album, which is scheduled to hit the streets on 10/25, the title track "What's my Name" and "Grow Old With Me"  a tune that John Lennon wrote  right before his death and never got into the studio (we only have him singing this on a solo piano demo tape that sounds a if it was recorded on a portable cassette using the inboard condenser mic.)
