Wow.  You're really on a Mercury binge!  Several years back I bought an amp from a fellow who had collected the entire Mercury Living Presence catalogue except for 2 or 3 titles.  I find their sound musical and spacious, a bit more relaxed than their RCA peers.  It's also harder to find clean Mercury pressings, in my experience.  But with streaming, I guess that's not an issue.   :thumb:

Yes, I can get into binge listening sometimes   I certainly enjoyed the quality of the Mercury recordings and another label that does a nice job as well is Polydor. I've read the articles on streaming quality vs playing the CDs, but I don't see myself getting a player again. The convenience of streaming has won me over  :thumb:

What is your favorite Haydn piece?  He's a composer I could never learn to appreciate, but I'm willing to try again.

If you can recall a few great recordings on the RCA label, I'd appreciate the info and will check them out when I return from my trip. Any genres....

There are soooo many...

LSC 1806  Also Sprach Zarathustra  Reiner and the Chicago Sym
LSC 2068  Rachmaninoff 2nd Concerto   Rubenstein and Reiner
LSC 2225  Witch's Brew  a TAS list standby
LSC 2285  Walton Facade    great sound
LSC 2323  Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsikov  Capricio Italienne and Espagnol
LSC 2336  Finlandia Sibelius   really nice
LSC 2424 4 Seasons  Vivaldi
LSC 2436 Pines of Rome Respighi  - legendary.  First pressing mixed too hot for the cartridges of the early 60's so they remixed it.  With modern styli it's the stuff of legends.  I've never heard a 1S copy, but I've got one of the later stampers and it's still amazingly good.
There are probably 30 more...
