Here's a question for the group - Does anyone know what the BART. and C.H designations mean?

Bart. = Baronet, he inherited his father's Baroncy.

CH =  Order of the Companions of Honour

I have to clean my vinyl copy of Beecham's "Messiah", and put it on while I have house to myself, I'm labeling whiteboxes for 12au7 tubes. Big Fun!

Thanks for the info Gene. I picked up several Sir Thomas Beecham LPs at the Crack House this week. SO far I am very impressed at what I have listened to both from a musical and a sound quality standpoint.

Oh cr@p, another series of LPs to hunt down and collect.
Here we go again  8-[

Each year, local Raleigh bands donate their recordings of their original compositions for a CD which is sold in local retail stores.  The CD raises money for various local charities. Since 2006. I'm listening to 2007, which has a song I helped to record.

All day, over and over again...

  ....You have a daughter Rich....happy listening...

And have a Merry Christmas...

Thanks Chris! Merry Christmas to you and the family too.

My daughter turned into a screaming jumping blur when she opened it. Everything stopped until the CD was ripped and playing. This is how audiophiles are born! I'm putting my last spare set of Infinity Entras and the Sonos amp unit into her room today so I can have my system back.

Wifes fav...  What a great band, beautiful voices. Recommended!

Well, I was fortunate to get this CD from my daughter...

Finally got the stereo back to myself now, just checking it out. Beethoven Piano Sonata 3. Very nice so far. Effortless, powerful, relaxed, confident. Amazing player.

QuoteMuhal Richard Abrams (piano, synthesizer), Marty Ehrlich (alto sax), Patience Higgins (tenor sax), Eddie Allen (trumpet), Mark Feldman (violin), Tony Cedras (accordion), Anne LeBaron (harp), Lindsey Horner (bass), Reggie Nicholson (drums), and Bryan Carrott (vibraphones)

One Line, Two Views features seven compositions for nine-piece ensemble by Muhal Richard Abrams. Works range from the subtle textural and tonal explorations of "Textures," "Hydepth," and the title track to the hard bop revisitations of "11 over 4" and "The Prism 3." The disc is rounded out by an ebullient, joyous, and celebratory "Tribute to Julius Hemphill and Don Pullen" and the blues-tinged "Ensemble Song." Abrams opts for unique instrumentation including violin, harp, and accordion.  These unconventional additions to the standard jazz ensemble enhance the warm tones and full sound of this recording. ..http://www.newworldrecords.org/album.cgi?rm=view&album_id=80469
