Hey Blues fans. Here is the other show I saw a couple of nights later of Albert King. 
I got part of the first set and all of the second set. This was the 2nd and last time that I saw him perform.  It was at a famous but small jazz club in Washington, D.C. called the Blues Alley. This is the first set and was transferred direct from tape to CDR. I really don't have the personnel info. He does announce the musicians but I never got a chance to jot it down when I transferred this a while ago, sorry. It's about 86 minutes long. Enjoy!

Keith Ferguson's bass was extremely loud and boomy so I used an EQ to reduce it somewhat. It's still too loud but although it's not technically correct it's how it actually sounded and I kind of liked that it that way.

This is one of my personal favorites which I have never seen surface from any other source. This is Texas blues, roadhouse style. Jimmie Vaughan and Kim Wilson are both killing.

I went to The Bayou many times, in the shadow of the Whitehurst Freeway, on K Street in Georgetown down by the Potomac River.

Pinetop Perkins - pianist and singer, harmonica - Jerry Portnoy. We will find on the guitar (but he will also sing after intermission)  Luther Johnson Junior. Bob Margolin was another backing guitarist, Calvin Jones the bassist and Willie Smith (but another of the family) was the drummer. So we will hear first personal compositions of Muddy Waters and then also tunes borrowed from Willie Dixon, one of the most prolific blues writers of the 50s and 60s, as well as a famous composition by Alger Alexander, successively : "Give Me A Personal Paper", "Key To The Highway", "Call Me Muddy Waters", "Same Thing", "My Baby", "Honey Bee", "Walking Blues" and "Rolling and Stumbling" blues.

We are currently listening to excerpts from a concert given on Sunday, November 7, 1976 in the large auditorium of Radio France as part of the Newport festival from France. Muddy is accompanied by Pinetop Perkins on piano, Jerry Portnoy on harmonica, Luther Johnson on guitar (he also sings the second part of this presentation that began with an instrumental piece : "Hold It", which is by Bill Doggett and it will be Luther Johnson's turn to play and then sing.) We'll listen... "Gotta Have Soul", "Nothing But The Blues"... Pinetop Perkins, the specialist in boogie woogie, will also sing. We will listen to "Five Long Years", "I Live The Life I love", then it will be the return of Muddy Waters with others of his classics which you will recognize - it's the famous "St. Louis Blues" during a medley.

Comments: I recently received an email asking for help in identifying a JT show. I don't want to steal anyone's thunder, so I will just say the recording in question turned out to be a significant upgrade over the currently circulating FM sources. It got me thinking about a couple of things. First, most FM broadcasts have already been shared, so "new" recordings are a rare treat. Second, did I have any FM broadcasts in my collection that have not yet been shared, or qualify as undercirculated? This show answers that question. I don't think I've ever seen 6-17-86, and it has not been widely circulated. 1986 was a terrific performing year for JT and I think this show will only enhance that sentiment.

Editing comments: Smoothed transitions between nearly all tracks after track 7. Most likely taper had a 90-minute cassette and began conserving tape after the first 1/3 of the show to avoid missing any music.
