Notes:
-The original seed for this show had sets 1 and 2 switched. This seed fixes that problem in     addition to the tracks at the end of set 2 that were graciously provided to me by John.       For some reason, none of the Cass/1 sources contain those d2t06-d2t08.
-This version includes replaced d1t03
Replacement track provided by Jeff Ishaq...thanks!

Fixes:
-Removed dropout in d1t08 2:55 (0.030s)
-Applied -90 cents pitch shift in SF 4.5 to d2t06-d2t08 to compensate for the increased         analog generations. I matched the track times between the previous seed and this seed for     the rest of Set 2 to achieve this value.

Billy Joel (Debut Master Transfer) * Personal Favorite! * Live at Rosemont Horizon, Rosemont IL USA * 1982-11-04 * 24b/192K ** POSTED BY ANALOG **

A Covid-19 quarantine release! :)
Hot Off The Heads Production! :) Just archived May 10th 2020 yeah!!

Mics: Sony ECM-33F (9V round battery)
Recorder: 1981 TCD-5M Sony Cassette Pro Portable
Location: 5th row left side front of PA
Cassettes: Fuji Metal Bias C90: Dolby on but left off for this playback
Playback: Sony TCD-5M unit calibrated to this era (not same identical unit). Tape speed and head alignment
Chord Company Interconnect Cable (Naim Co.)
Run through the Naim Audio NAC-52 preamp to the Sound Devices-722 @ 24b/192kHz
Sound Forge just to track. NO OTHER BULLSHIT!

This was a great sounding show and performance. I remember the sound system was Clair Bros! They did Fleetwood mac and I thought it was special if you saw them doing the concert. Remember the speakers wrapped in a single row from far left to far right in a banana? Next up is the Who and that is crap in the same location here. Billy Joel spoke about the acoustics in this new arena. "We call this the Boom Boom Room! I bet hockey sounds bad here" Classic!
OK, I have made a mistake in this latest archiving. I ran the master tape side one on the 90 minute and when I heard the alarm I noticed I did not start the recorder. DEVASTATED!!! So I let the master tape rest for a few weeks and ran it again. Side one is -2 and side two is -1. Now on the master, I see that the last three songs I transfered to the PCM F1 digital recorder. Was I that desparate to save 3 bucks on a cassette? YES! So I dragged out all the HEAVEY digital portable gear to finish this archive. All I can do is shake my head. If I could do it all over again. Not that I would do it again. But I would do things different. This recording has fantastic moments! It must be played LOUD (maybe not the last 3 songs) on your best stereo system!  Enjoy RB

***Everything I do for my stereo room and gear is carefully chosen for the finest of quality control. This means A to B comparisons for EVERYTHING! I leave no stone unturned. I decide if what I do will end up being a more musical experience and not the opposite like more processed sounding. I split hairs!! I have learned what is more musical from all the decades of listening to differences. Stereo and audio gear is not nearly as subjective as people make it out to be. It is either more musical or more processed sounding at the end of the day. One more thing I learned, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE SAME! Practically the same yes! The same, NO! So with this all said…..I thank all the people here for the great compliments since I came here in 2006. It means a lot to me after decades of sleepless nights and stressful days carrying in top shelve equipment every time out!***

PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ON THE 24 BIT 192 KHZ RESOLUTION!!! IF YOU WANT TO UPLOAD A CD FORMAT GO KNOCK YOURSELF OUT. JUST PUT A COPY OF THE TEXT DESCRIPTION AND PUT THIS LINK IN THE FIRST FEW COMMENTS!

In this day and age, anyone in the trading world who cannot handle "with ease" a 5GB file is way beyond my comprehension. This is NOT an invitation for you to tell me why you won't/can't.

With every digital transfer the master tapes become obsolete. If you try any which way to transfer them again they won't sound as good. As long as there are ample backups of course there is no need for them.

Notes: There is 1 second of digi-noise at 2:07 during Me And Bobby McGee. The very end of "All Of Me" was abruptly cut on the DAT, so I faded it out.  No music is missing.  The beginning of "Stardust" is missing and fades in on the DAT, presumably due to the taper switching from the mic and plugging back into the soundboard.
