Listening to U2 while putting together bookcases to house classical - odd.

Tom the best rack is the one you don't have to put out extra cash for    As long as it does the job that's all that matters. Nice run on MFSL LP's

You're absolutely right. The way I figure it is out of sight on the unfinished side of the basement where nobody is going to see it, so why spend extra time and/or money just to make it look nicer.

BTW my son has named it "The Crack House Annex" since that is where about 90% of the records that are sitting in it right now came from.  :duh

I take that back.  I just had a big order of audiophile vinyl come in today from Acoustic Sounds so I need to go through that.  The rock has to go back on hold for the time being.

Right now I am listening to what very well might be the best sounding record in my library...it is a 45 RPM set pressed on two 180g LPs by Analogue Productions and will set you back $50.  It is worth every penny.

I will refrain from laying on the thick audiophile superlatives and will only say that if you like classical music in general or enjoy Rachmaninoff in particular then buy this record while you still can.

I picked this up when it was reissued by Athena Records in 1988.

It is still one of the nicest sounding orchestral records I own. And it is only a 33 1/3 RPM pressing. I can only imagine how good the 45 version is.
