I'm immersed in violin concertos this week. I listened to Julia Fischer's Tchaikovski (on Pentatone) a bunch of times the last couple days. It gets better with each hearing. It takes a few hearings to being to absorb it. She, the band, the recording and the work itself are amazing.


Now Rachel Burton Pine's Brahms. Awesome!

Music Matters 180g 45RPM vinyl Blue Note reissue.

Perhaps one of the best horn sessions on Blue Note.  Lee Morgan on Trumpet, with Johnny Griffin, Hank Mobley, and John Coltrane on tenor sax.  They are backed by Wynton Kelly on Piano, Paul Chambers on Bass, and Art Blakey on drums.
