Andy Gravish Quintet - NY Rome Connection (CD)- Long story here. One of the sterophile writers said he was frineds with this guy who recorded a CD privately in a small NY studio and is self-promoting and selling it. He said the sound was phenominal.
- So I contacted this musician, Andy Gravish, and bout a dozen CD's from him for members of our local audio club. The music here is great, and the sound too. He works primarily in Italy these days and I believe has published a second CD in the last few years. Here's his website:

That's cool Bob!! I went to college with Andy, we played together in trumpet sections on a few Berklee big bands.  Glad to see he is still playing and recording. He was a senior when I was just starting, he gave me a lot of encouragement and mentoring. A super great guy!

BobM

Yeah, a really nice guy. He told me all about Italy and how he is a headliner there because he's a jazz guy from NY. He did put out a second album in 2007 I believe but I haven;t heard it. If it's anything like the first one then it is really good.

QuoteKasabian are a roguish English swagger-rock band made up of Tom Meighan (vocals), Sergio Pizzorno (guitar), Chris Edwards (bass) and Ian Matthews (drums), frequently compared to Oasis or The Stone Roses.

The Dead: Wave that Flag Summer Tour 2004 - Morrison CO

CD

One of a batch of 14 CDs I picked up at the Crack house covering 5 live shows. Great SQ (I assume this is a direct sound board feed, not a fan taped bootleg.)In addition to Grateful Dead originals the set contains a number of nice covers of major artists like The Beatles, Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan.

This one will take me a while to get through, interspersed with my other listening.  8)  Not being a complete Deadhead I don't think I could handle 13 Dead CDs back to back.   (I'll only post it once so as not to clog up the board)

Direct to Disc 45 rpm White Vinyl

How was the vinyl on this LP? Some of those Crystal Clear white vinyl releases tended to be noisy. They were such nice recordings and then the blew it by pressing them on gimicky white vinyl. I never understood why they did that. (I guess somebody let the marketing people in the room.  ) The black vinyl they used was much better quality. But in the used market (and especially in the $3 price range) you take what you can get.
