Bob if you like that LP try ''Ashes Are Burning" or''Prologue"  These 2 LPs were later released in a 2 album package. There are a couple of earlier albums but were made by some members of the Yardbirds and have a diff. feel

Yup - got 'em. Also, I understand there is a new album forthcoming from the band. I took my daughters to see them live last year and Annie is still in pretty great shape for an old broad. She can still hit all but the highest notes.

Anathema - Hindsight (CD)

- This is a sort of early "best of" for this prog-metal group, with a twist. It is mostly acoustic reqorkings of their best stuff. Interesting and worth checking out. Not death metal at all, so it's safe to go into these waters.

I also really like their 2010 release "We're Here Because We're Here" and there is a new album forthcoming  in April "Weather Systems".

Everybody Wants to Be a Cat - various artists (CD)
- This is a take on famous Disney songs by a bunch of current Jazz artists: Roy Hargrove, Esperanza Spaulding, Dave Brubeck, Joshua Redman, Dianne Reeves, The Bad Plus, Regina Carter, etc. Some very nice interpretations here done in a tasteful way. Highly recommended.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band-Unclassified CD

$1 thrift shop acquisition

A rollicking record, full of youthful energy and enthusiasm.  Randolph plays a mean pedal steel guitar and fronts a band that combines blues, (Robert Cray meets Robert Johnson), rock (Rick Derringer meets Lynyrd Skynyrd), Gospel and Funk (Kirk Franklin meets George Clinton) probably with some bluegrass and country thrown in for good measure. Loud, fast and lots of fun!
