Thanks Tom. It is a great record, I used to listen to it all the time when I was a kid. I still have my old copy, but saw this for a buck so I grabbed it.

Turns out it's just slightly warped and the spindle hole fit is tight. Do I use a special reamer to enlarge the hole, or will a unibit work?  It's yours if you want it?

Unlike to old days of Garrard and BSR changers the spindles in most modern TTs rotate with the platter so it is not a big deal if the center hole is a little tight. A bit annoying while moving the record on or off the TT, but not really performance affecting. I don't know of and special tool made for right-sizing a record hole. I guess a unibit would work but just be very careful because  you certainly don't want a hole that is too big.
But quite frankly as long as you can get ti on the spindle without too much extra effort I would leave it alone. In my experience the hole will usually  loosen up on its own just through the action of putting it on the spindle a few times.

Brahms Symphony No. 3.  This is from the Karajan Decca recordings CD boxed set.  I'm listening to this one on headphones and it just isn't doing it for me.  I don't have great headphones, they're Sennheiser HD-598s.  Decent to be sure, but not great.  I need to do something about that because late evening listening in my house requires headphones.  Expecting my wife to endure my blasting music on my speakers late at night is too much to ask of her.  So I am looking at some better, audiophile class headphones.
