Big weekend on the software front. Picked up 20 LPs and about 1/2 dozens CDs at the Crack house. I also ended up having to drive my son to several "Social" functions and while I was out took the opportunity to visit some town libraries that I hadn't been in for quite some time and checked out about a dozen CDs from them as well. These are going to take a while to go through .   I'm going to start with the Library CDs, for two reasons, first, they have to go back and second I can take them to work and listen to them there. (Yes I know it's shocking, but I do not that a turntable in my cubicle.   )

Brian Bromberg: Wood



Rich, this disc is everything you said about it and then some. A sinice tour de force. Library or no Library, I am definitely going to have to pick up and original copy of this for myself.

Has anybody seen and/or heard this on vinyl?

Also any feed back on the follow-up album Wood II?

Not heard it on vinyl but love it none the less from CD.  Wood II is also an excellent choice.  I don't think I have anything from BB that I don't like and doesn't get played in a reasonable rotation.

David Beniot: Shadows



OK, while the first two out of the box were outstanding, this one is not so great. I usually like Benoit's stuff, but in this case the music is kind of "commerical" and sounds a bit forced.  And on the SQ front the soundstage is kind of closed in and lacked that natural sound we have come to expect from GRP.  Not horrible, but just not as good as I anticipated. I guess with as many albums as both Beniot as an artist  and GRPas a label put put out, a less that stelalr effort will slip in everyonce in a while.

Tuck & Patti: Love Warriors:



This one was just flat out annoying. I don't know if it is some kind of phasing or flanging effect or just plain gain riding, but throughout the  whole CD the master volume keeps going up and down in a slow sinusoidal pattern. Skipped through a number of cuts for about five minute before I couldn't take it anymore and puled this disc from the player. 

Back to the library with this one!
