We pick the Tim Curry out of the dollar bin @ PREX because back in college my friends and I spent many a Friday night at midnight showings of Rocky Horror at the Mini Cinema in Uniondale. (Never in costume, but we did know all the lines and brought a bag of "props" to each show.  :D ) The music turned out to be some non-descript 70s rock,, But I wanted to hear what Tim ended up doing post Frank-N-futer.

My favorite Jazz Samba pressing is also a Japanese Verve that I pick up at a record show years ago (although I have not heard any of the new 180g reissues first hand). This copy was an American Verve that I pick up recently at the Crack House for my son as I felt it was an important album for him to have in his collection (And what the heck, it was only 53 cents.....)

Hey Tom - what a blast, from my Big Fun past. Thanks for reminding me. I saw Tim & band on tour for this album at the Old Waldorf over in SF, a smallish sit-down club in the Financial District. Absolutely riveting show - Curry was the penultimate performer and while he didn't have the crack band from the album that night, he didn't NEED them as he was a force of nature.

My desert-isle Ten includes Curry's first album "Read My Lips". What a recording, ALL great songs with a ton of diversity. Bob Ezrin did a bang-up job on the production and it was a show piece on my old Conrad-Johnson bi-amped Acoustats. It's a freakin' CRIME that "Read My Lips" and the rest have never been released in remastered digital format. Me, being me, sold off all my vinyl back in '82, probably to finance a three-day & night bacchanal! - String

Oh, that hurts.  :(  :duh

I never saw Tim live, but give his musical performances on scree in RH I would imagine he was capable of putting on quite a show.

There are a lot of great performances of this available, and many of them don't sound very good.  This is one that does.
