Hybrid GaN FET Amplifiers - including 300B

I recall some time ago asking about Hybrid GaN FET amplifiers. While many have done it with various Class D amps, I wanted to go after the latest GaN FET technology. While I was with Purity Audio Design, we started designing a tube input stage. We decided on two circuits.

The first is our twin circuit 12AU7 or 12AT7 which is the driving force in the MA200H. We could not be happier with this model. Available with single ended or both single ended and balanced inputs.



To take things further into the DHT world, we working on a new input stage using the 300B tube. I cannot put into words how amazing this hybrid amp is. For the 300B version, we stepped up to a 300 watt GaN FET module.

To compliment these designs, I am in the process of making enhancements and adding a second stage to the to the new Spirit linestage (formerly the Purity Audio Design Foundation Pre). We will, of course, keep the Bluetooth streaming board with digital outputs but now adding a second digital output. 

My goal is to offer these products at a real world price.

That 300B version sure sounds interesting. Do you have an ETA on the finished version?

Short of my traveling 2900 miles due east to hear your gear <not gonna happen>, how does one get to hear your products if one lives on the west coast? Any chance you'll attend the Pacific Audio Fest this year?

This unit can now accept the 45, 2A3 or 300B input tube



And the little brother, the MB200H utilizing our unique 12AU7-12AT7 input stage feeding a 200/300 watt GaN Fet.
