Robin is definitely a master of his electric guitar.
His accompanists included very good complementary bass player and drummer.
(Vocalist maybe less so).

The opening act - Kevin Abernathy and his bass player and drummer -
do have talent, which actually showed briefly during one slower number -
amidst many other songs wherein they hid their talent by trying to and playing
too many and too fast notes way too loud and sinign too loud.
Luckily I had ear plugs handy for this opening act.

I didn't pay to be deafened by that group's noise long before
Robin Trower came on stage to play music...

I have tickest for the Atlanta show next week,, I have seen him many times,,since his first tour in the early seventies,,unfortunately the venue he will be playing is not the best for his style(electric),it's better suited for acoustic or less powerful groups than Trower,, but I'll enjoy it anyway,, probabally won't be seeing him tour very much longer is the impressio that I get.What a wonderful carrer and ride it's been,, for him and me.Hope you enjoyed it Roger,,as much as I have,and plan on.

Saw Robin last year at a small theater on Long Island (IMAC, which is sadly gone now). What I remember most is that all he had was a volume pedal, a wah-wah pedal and a compression box (and maybe a distortioin box too). But he barely went near them or touched them. He got the sound and feedback and everything he wanted just by PLAYING THE GUITAR. No fancy techno stuff, just a master at his craft.
