Well it ain't really broke...the laser died, ordered a new one for $32 and my friend Karl will install it when it arrives..no big deal he says.

So.. I am using my turntable as my source and loving it.
Nothing special
Thorens td 125
Denon 103
Audio Vista Phono pre(great :thumb:)

Of course some records sound pretty shitty but the good recordings sound wonderful!
I have left my audiophile lexicon at the curb and am just enjoying music for music's sake.
It is very liberating.

And honestly I do not miss my cd player at all!  No debate on analogue over digital is necessary, just music...and fun!

System consists of an amp a preamp, 2 speakers a turntable and a phono preamp, Also some cables and power cords and a really cheap cd player.

The same can be said for CDs. A bad recording is a bad recording no matter whatformat is used to distribute it.

An equipment breakdown like this does have an upside. It gives you a chance to visit with some "old friends."  :thumb:

When I just want to sit down, relax and listen to music, vinyl is the only way to go  I try to sit down at least once  week at the shop and listen to vinyl but when Im in the other room working, I rely on the long playing time of CDs.
I should bring a turntable to the house :duh

I guess when I bring in a new Dr. Feikert table for the showroom I can bring my Audio Note table home. Or I can get a new cart for my custom Garrard :-|  Although it seems like I spend more time at work lately than at home.... Hhmmm I guess that's not a bad problem to have.

Unfortunately, with the economy the way it is today there are way too many people that would be thrilled to have that "problem."  :(

I am hopeful to get my TT up soon. I have a Thorens TD280 MKII with the Grado TLZ cartridge.

Mike, you are not alone. In the past couple of weeks I have had discussion with two more AudioSyndromers who have "seen the light" and said to me What the heck have I been doing all these years.

And the funny part is that I as the one who has been the staunch defender of the vinyl castle all these years now find myself listening to more and more CDs as the SQ of the newer generations of CD hardware has improved to the point that I can actually sit down and really enjoy a CD without being annoyed by the sound.

Of course, when I really want to do some serious listening the vinyl always come out, but it is ironic that just as CDs start to become listenable to me a whole bunch of the digital supporters are starting to turn back to LPs.

Go figure........

It has been almost a year since this post was started, my God time flies!

And I am still vinyl obsessed more than ever, getting ready to set up a second table.

Do i miss my Lector? ..not really ...it was a great cd player ...one of the best I had heard, but the Micro Seiki is still better.

Recently our club member Les who was having his tricked out Sonic Frontiers CDP repaired set up his TT again.
The telephone call I received went as follows " Put the TT back in and I could not believe what I was missing" " What was I thinking"  :duh
So it looks like another CDP bit the dust. Gotta love it.
