I used to go there often. But what i realized is that I was spending $$ on stuff that didn't appeal to me (musically) or sounded like crap. :duh

Now i go on Amazon and sample the music before I buy. I have a much higher rate of sucess for not much more money (and time).  :thumb:

Tom, what in the world are you going to do when you move to Brightwaters and are not loacted near the Crack House anymore?

Vinyl shopping withdrawal?
Spend time actually listening to your back-load?
Find another Salvation Army store near the new house?
Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you'll have  to blow your nose.

The Salvation Army store in Babylon is only ten minutes away.  8)

Do you really think I didn't scope this out before looking in that neighborhood in the first place?

And there are always road trips to Princeton......

I was out on the road this morning and I pulled up next to one of those mobile shredding trucks. Now I don't have any problem with the concept of tearing up old paper documents, but the name of the company made my blood run cold.

In big 2 foot letters across the truck was emblazoned
Record Destruction Corporation

Now if that is not the kind of thing nightmares are made of.........

Chris we will be living out of both house for a few months before this whole thing is complete so I was thinking of just moving them a little at a time every time i got between the two houses (I have about a dozen milk crates I can use and just  take a few each trip. I'm not sure how practical that is, but we will see how it goes and then maybe move to some kind of plan B.

But one of the things I have realized is in addition to thinking about how to load the records I am probably going to have to think about how to unload a good amount of the records. (Hence the posts from jimbones and BobM.)

So, there just maybe be a Vinyl Vampire garage sale in the not so distant future.

I will of course have a special preview day for all of my audiobuds, so that they can have first crack at things before I offer anything to the general public. (Tent sites will be available and I will be handing out wristbands starting at midnight the night before. )

Tom -

When do you expect to be moved in and/or have system functional? I'll be starting a project on north shore of LI in next month or two and would love to come by one evening and hear your system.
