Just heard back from John DeVore and he is going to set up a date for us in a few weeks at the Monkeyhaus.

I let him know the weekend of march 12th is no good due to the rave at Response Audio

Dibbies

The veneer on the front of those makes me smell cedar.

I've been following the Orangutans since he showed them at CES 2010. They are very high efficiency for small Shindo type tube amps that are the rage among NY audio elites, but I trust they will still have his famous tonal neutrality, as hinted by the metal driver. Must be custom, I don't know of any high efficiency drivers other than paper.   The low tweeter height is a concern, but I've lived with even lower, you just need a low deep couch. ;)

His cabinet maker is a custom furniture builder next door to him in the Navy Yard

Stereophile blog from CES 2010. John says the design spec was 98dB sensitivity!! I wonder how close they came in the final design?
